Blogging: What’s the Point?

Why Blogging Matters

You’ve got a blog but is it actually doing anything?

A lot of businesses start a blog because someone said they should or their web designer added one by default, then they post once or twice and leave it.

A blog isn’t just there to make your website look busy. When it’s done properly, it helps in three big ways.

1. It helps with Google

Search engines love websites that stay fresh. If you’re adding blog content regularly, Google sees that your site is active and that can help with rankings.
And if your competitors are blogging and you’re not? You’re giving them a head start.

2. It builds trust

Blogs give you a chance to show what you know  without the hard sell. You can answer common questions, explain how you help or offer useful tips. It shows potential customers you know your stuff and you’re someone they can trust.

3. It gives you something to say

Running out of things to post on social media? Your blog gives you ready made content to share and it brings people back to your website.

You don’t need to write essays. Just short, helpful posts in your tone of voice, aimed at the kind of people you want to work with.

And if that sounds like one more thing you don’t have time for:-

👉 That’s what I do. Let’s get your blog working for you.

Need an example?

Here’s a blog I wrote for Reddistores, a clear, helpful piece aimed at small business owners.

👉 Self-Storage: A Smart Solution for Small Businesses

It works for people and for Google. It’s got:-

  • Relevant keywords in natural language

  • A clear headline and subheadings

  • Helpful content that answers real questions

  • Internal/external links and a strong call to action

Google ranks websites higher when the content is useful, easy to understand and includes things like the right keywords, headings and links. It all helps with SEO.
