You’ve probably seen a social media post like this:-
“Here’s a photo of the team’s lunch from Tuesday!”
What does that actually do for your audience?
It doesn’t inform, help or interest most people. It’s fine to show personality but every post should give something back. It should be useful, interesting or at least make someone smile. If it doesn’t do any of that, it’s just taking up space in people’s feeds and they’ll scroll straight past.
A lot of businesses post just to get something out there. If you’re not thinking about what your audience needs or what might actually help them, it won’t get you anywhere.
Before Publish A Social Media Post, Ask Yourself:
- Does this give someone a reason to stop scrolling?
- Is it useful or relevant?
- Does it sound like something we’d actually say?
If it doesn’t, save it. Or better get help writing posts that people actually want to see.
